Choosing a diamond can become an unnecessarily arduous process. There are so many “facets” to consider!

However, at the end of the day, your choice really is going to drill down to two basic criteria, which will simplify your task a whole  lot.

  2. The shape/s you have your heart set on.

RETURN & REFUND POLICY

Due to the nature of our business and the fact that all designs are crafted to order and according to your requested specifications, purchased items cannot be returned and money cannot be refunded. Section 20 of the Consumer Protection Act (Act No. 68 of 2008) provides for special circumstances under which goods cannot be returned. These circumstances apply to hand-made and customized goods such as tailored clothing, custom-cut curtains or carpets, personalized gadgets, or jewellery made to order. While your item cannot be returned for the refund we will do our best to accommodate your modification or repair in accordance with our Lifetime Warranty.

LIFETIME WARRANTY

We are proud to offer a lifetime warranty, If there’s something wrong with one of your items, we will do everything we can to make it right.

Our Lifetime Warranty gives you:·

  • Ring resizing

Ring Resizing: Certain rings, depending on their design, can be resized only 2-3 times in the ring’s lifetime.

  • Professional ring cleaning and plating

Ring Cleaning: This maintenance service is offered to all customers who have purchased a ring from us, the service can be requested free of charge every 12 months. Every piece comes with complimentary cleaning and inspection service for life.

  • Valuation Certificate upgrade

In order to keep up to date with changes in the Jewellery market you need to have your items valued at least every 2 years, also this service is free of charge for all customers who have purchased their rings from us.

  • All manufacturing defects

FREE REPAIR AND RESTORATION

This is a free service reserved for those who have purchased any of our products.
Our products are warranted to the original owner against defects in materials and workmanship, for the lifetime of the product. This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, improper use, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of colours and materials over extended time and use. If we determine that the damage is not caused by a manufacturing defect, then we will notify you and let you know if repair services are available at cost or otherwise. Should you return your jewelry the transport and insurance costs will be for your own account.

The Diamond Mine will not be held responsible for loss of the main diamond.

We recommend having your diamond ring cleaned and inspected every twelve months or if it undergoes any potential trauma. Inspections may help prevent the loss of a stone and extend the life of your ring. This cleaning and inspection service is free of charge.

The foregoing manufacturer warranty and complimentary services are available only to the person who purchased the covered product from The Diamond Mine.

Maintenance, repair, sizing or other service performed by someone other than The Diamond Mine will void your manufacturer warranty.

Important: Please note that to keep the lifetime warranty active as well as the free cleaning and inspection service, every ring needs to be booked in every 12 months. Please also note that a ring can only be resized 2-3 times in it’s lifetime. Reducing the size is much easier to do than to increase the size.

1)How are you able to supply diamonds at 30 – 40% of the jewellers’ retail prices?

A: Because I am able to source from my own supply channel – from the mine to the polish works to the jewelry manufacturer.

2) What costs am I likely to incur?

A: Please refer to Transaction costs.

Your final invoice will be issued once all communications regarding your quote/ purchase are finalised.

3) Which delivery company will be used?

A: We use RAM international for all our deliveries as they have historically been a major role player in the diamond delivery industry.

4) When would I receive my product?

A: The delivery of your product would depend on the nature of it. If you have requested the diamond/s to be set in a jewelry piece, then it will take  a longer period. If you have just requested a diamond or diamonds, it will take approximately a 4 – 5 working days from the date of agreement for a local delivery, and approximately 10 working days for an international delivery.

5) How do I pay for the product?

A:  We use a ESCROW payment service for your protection. You would pay into an ESCROW account (details will be provided). Only once you are satisfied with your product with final payment be effected.

6) What happens if I am dissatisfied with my product?

Please note: if a ring is being ordered, an accurate ring size is critical! If you are unsure, please choose a size which is slightly larger, as it is much easier to reduce the ring size than to increase it! Continue reading FAQ

Transaction costs

The following transaction costs will apply to your purchase, and will be included in your quote:

 

  1. Payment for your diamonds and/ or manufacture of your jewelry (as per your quote)

  2. Escrow account fees (we make use of Escrow account services to safeguard the quality of the service we provide (see the Escrow fee table below)

  3. Transport / Delivery fees (we make use of RAM International (South Africa) to ensure your product is delivered safely). The value of the fees will depend on a) the delivery destination and b) the value of the product being delivered and will be factored into your quote. We will deliver internationally.

  4. Insurance on your purchase. Although we do not insist on it, we highly recommend that you insure your product during transport. We will not be able to take responsibility for an uninsured product. Insurance will be factored into your quote by default.
